The Huonville Sewage Pump Station and Rising Main project involved the design of a new sewerage pump station on Main Street, Huonville, in Tasmania's South. The old pump station was originally built in the 1960's and had a history of complaints and non-compliance.The pump station has a capacity of 70 L/s and included deep excavation of the main pump well and storages and incoming sewage lines. A major complexity was the main rising route and numerous services encountered. The upgrade was an important project to help minimise the risk of sewage overflows, and reduce odour from the SPS. It will also improve system reliability and operational safety and will help cater for growth in Huonville over the next 30 years.

IPD Consulting was engaged by AECOM to provide the preliminary design report, perform site geotechnical investigations, detailed design drawings including electrical and structural elements. A safety in design and constructability review was complied for both the preliminary and detailed design phases.
